Shane Dowdy Show Horses

Shane Dowdy grew up in Burleson TX and began riding horses at the early age of five. He has worked for many great trainers like Clint Haverty, Jerry and Marty Stanford, and Cleve Wells. Shane has won almost every major event in the pleasure horse industry. He won his first AQHA World Championship title at the young age of twenty-three, and has had many World Champions and Reserve World Champions, Congress Champions, NSBA and Reichert Championships over the years.

One of Shane’s greatest accomplishments occurred when he dominated the 2004 AQHA World shows. In 2004 Shane captured 3 World Titles on CTC Imagination – Jr. Pleasure, Sweet Talking Jeannie – Sr. Pleasure, and Born To Be Blazin – 2 Year old Pleasure.

In addition Joetta Bell won the Amateur Western Pleasure World Championship on Sweet Talking Jeannie. Lynda Swenson won the Select Western Pleasure World Championship on Zizzles Hot Impulse and Mike Hershberger was the Select Western Pleasure Reserve World Champion on CTC Imagination. Shane Dowdy Show Horses captured 6 World Champion and Reserve Champions in 2004.

When he's not training and winning world championships, Shane spends a lot of his time helping others and giving clinics. Shane travels all over the United States sharing his knowledge, techniques and equipment with individuals interested in becoming better trainers and riders. He has created his own line of equipment that he uses daily and is currently sharing his unique tools and knowledge to help others.
